Meet Donald Bradford, owner and maker of a whimsical cat called the "Methil Moggie" Donald was unemployed with time on his hands, so he joined a local training programme.

When this was ended, he worked in a hotel for a year and then in December 1990, the pottery business was started and as you can see opposite, he is still using his hands to produce all his creations. Every model is unique as they are all made and painted by hand. The type of clay that is used is a stoneware clay, with the decoration being iron oxide.

Here is a selection of the Methil Moggies and Methil Mutts made from stoneware clay.
They are available in Baby, Small,
Medium and Large sizes and are fired at 1280 degrees C thus the clay is
vitrified, which means they will not absorb water so they would therefore
make very nice garden ornaments.
